Editor-In-chief (EIC)

This job sounds like a boss because it is.

This position is the top officer in the yearbook. The EIC is often the face of the yearbook and leader of the team. duties include organization and leadership, content curation and design, editing and proofreading, layout and production, and most importantly communication and collaboration.

They have the final say in what's published and lead the publication's team of editors, reporters, writers, photographers, designers and multimedia journalists. An editor in chief sets the tone for the newsroom and ensures adherence to the publication's editorial policies


The EIC is responsible for leading all editors, maintaining the integrity of the theme and overseeing all aspects of the yearbook from brainstorming to distribution.

Managing editor

A managing editor is a senior member of the management team. They report to the editor in chief and oversee several editors, and staffers. Apart from their managerial duties, they may also edit articles and write an occasional story for the publication. Managing editors also ensure the staff stays on schedule.


The Arena Managing Editor plays a pivotal role in overseeing the production and publication of the school yearbook. This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and attention to detail. The Managing Editor collaborates with the yearbook staff, advisors, and contributors to ensure the timely completion of the yearbook, while maintaining a high standard of quality and professionalism.


Design editor

The Design Editor plays a crucial role in creating a visually appealing and cohesive yearbook. This position requires a strong eye for design, creativity, and proficiency in graphic design software. The Design Editor collaborates with the yearbook staff, photographers, and writers to curate and layout the yearbook's visual elements, ensuring an engaging and aesthetically pleasing publication.


The design editor helps in shaping the look of the yearbook and maintaining that look throughout the book.

Sports and events editor

The Sports and Events Editor plays a key role in capturing and showcasing the sports and other events and achievements of the school year. This position requires a passion for school spirit, strong communication skills, and organizational abilities. The Sports Editor collaborates with the yearbook staff, writers, photographers, and designers to curate, edit, and present engaging sports content in the yearbook.


Photography editor

The Organizations Index Editor plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the yearbook index, a crucial reference section that helps readers navigate through the publication. Marketing and sales manager

The Yearbook Marketing and Sales Manager plays a crucial role in promoting and generating sales for the school yearbook. This position requires strong communication, marketing, and organizational skills. The Marketing and Sales Manager collaborates with the yearbook staff, school administration, and the community to develop marketing strategies, drive sales initiatives, and ensure the yearbook reaches its intended audience.

The marketing and sales manager works to advertise yearbook and ad sales on social media and organize marketing events to boost sales.

The Organizations Index Editor plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the yearbook index, a crucial reference section that helps readers navigate through the publication. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and an ability to work with data effectively. The Index Editor collaborates with the yearbook staff to compile, verify, and organize information, creating a comprehensive and user-friendly index for the yearbook.


The index editor works closely with the photography staff is responsible for building relationships with clubs on campus, gathering their information and making sure they appear in the club section of the yearbook.

The High School Newspaper Editor-in-Chief is responsible for overseeing the production and publication of the school newspaper. Equipment manager

The Yearbook Equipment Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining the equipment and resources necessary for the production of the school yearbook. This position requires organizational skills, attention to detail, and technical knowledge of photography and media equipment. The Equipment Manager collaborates with the yearbook staff, photographers, and advisors to ensure the availability, functionality, and proper usage of equipment throughout the yearbook production process.

The Staff Photographer is responsible for capturing high-quality photographs that visually represent the school year and the diverse experiences of the student body. This position requires photography skills, creativity, and a strong eye for composition. Content curator

Content curators are freelance staffers. They may write, or photograph on occasion, using their own equipment. Additionally, they may procure content from other students outside of the yearbook and newspaper staff.
